The idea behind the Wool Thermo Mesh Collection from Brynje is pretty straightforward even though the garment has an unusual look. The WT shirt is made with Brynje’s classic knitted 3/32” open weave net, on the theory that trapped air provides high insulation. It also means that perspiration from vigorous winter sports is transported to outer layers at four to six times the insulation value by weight than solid Merino wool knit fabrics. Simply put, while it may resemble knitted chain mail with very thick strands, it’s a smart idea for those looking for something beyond capilene and other materials for a first layer for skiing, winter running or snowshoeing.
