Description
The Wool Thermo (WT) mesh collection is made with Schoeller® 80% Merino wool and 20% polyester yarn providing excellent warmth when damp and superior odor attenuation. Brynje’s classic 3/8″ open weave design provides 4 to 6 times the insulation value of any solid knit by weight. The mesh design also allows moisture to transport to the outer layers in vapor form thus keeping you dry during periods of high activity.
Brynje’s WT Merino wool blend is very soft against the skin and has greater strength and durability than 100% Merino wool yarns. In addition, Merino wool’s great odor management properties means more uses between washings which protects both the garment and the environment. These garments are a great choice for virtually all conditions and activities.

All sizes are averages and approximate. Your size may vary depending based on your body shape and the model.
Mesh base layers are generally quite stretchy in all directions and are cut long. As the girth increases the length will decrease
Generally the Women’s sizes will be one size smaller than Unisex. I.E. a Unisex SM is equivalent to a Women’s MD.
Laundry Instructions
Wool is a natural fiber which does not to be laundered regularly. A global wardrobe survey in 2015 by AC Nielsen confirmed that wool garments have a longer life than cotton – as much as 50% longer. Merino wool can be worn multiple time between washings which will prolong the garment life and protect the environment. The synthetic fibers like Schoeller® Polycolon can be machine washed and hung to dry.
Hand wash or machine wash on gentle cycle with cool water (not to exceed 85°F).
Line dry. Do not tumble dry.
Do not use bleach.
Do not use fabric softener.
Do not dry clean.

Warm and comfortable under almost anything. I got one for myself, then ordered one for my daughter>

Very happy with the quality of your products! I have purchased four shirts so far at least.

These wool mesh shirts are excellent for working Outdoors during the cold. I pretty much wear mine every day I even sleep in it. Keeps me at just the right temperature. Very glad I found this product. Highly recommend.

My range of use is from being a sitting hunter to an alpine hiker in the ADK. Moisture control has been a huge challenge for me over the years. The mesh wool shirt you produce is the best solution I have found.

Works very well. I’m a heavy sweater, regardless of layer arrangement. The mesh shirts allow me to stay warm longer when I stop moving, and my layers seem to dry out more quickly on my body. So far proving more durable than Aclima’s version, no runs. I do wish there were something other than the mesh to grab to pull the sleeves all the way onto my arms. They seem to want to bunch at the wrist. Maybe a little more room in the forearms would be helpful.

This thing is great. I use it when temps are generally less than 15f for the day. It’s comfortable, cut long so it doesn’t come out of pants when climbing or skiing, dries quickly and does all the things claimed. I got a large and am generally a med to large in USA clothes.

Got this as a gift for my boyfriend. He’s a heavy sweater and always gets cold during high-output activities in cold weather. The fit is good, and he wears it for hiking, skiing, mountain biking and running.

Very warm for the weight & comfortable to wear. I was good from 40 degrees to 70 with a t-shirt, light jacket & jeans over this as a base layer & was dry as well. It’s a good idea to contact Brynje with your measurements & get their size recommendation.

I am in admiration of this shirt. Here’s my experience after recently purchasing it.
Upon delivery, I washed it to get rid of the manufacturing smell. I hung it to dry, and it dried quite quickly. I ended up wearing it around the house for a few days. Some nights I didn’t want to take it off, and even slept in it. It’s both warm and very comfortable.
Of course, I didn’t buy it as a pajama top :-). I wore it as a base layer under a New Balance running jacket to a 5-mile winter running race. After the race, I changed into dry clothes and squeezed the sweaty shirt and running jacket into a small gym bag. It was hours before I unpacked the bag. The running jacket went right into the wash. But Brynje suggests resisting the urge to wash after every wearing. Given that it was crammed tight into a bag for hours, I was quite skeptical, but I hung it up to dry.
Some time later, the shirt was completely dry and odor free. I even sniffed the armpits; no odor whatsoever!
The next day I wore the shirt as a base layer on a 2-hour mountain bike ride. I also wore a camelback-style hydration unit on my back. Upon finishing the ride, the only spot that was wet was where the hydration pack rested.
I decided to wash it after that wearing, but it barely held any foul odor.
Overall, I really like this shirt and have already bought one as a gift for a friend.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars: During the 5-mile run I got warm and lowered the running jacket zipper about 6″. The zipper ended up damaging the Brynje’s wool, which had me quite upset. This is possibly more the fault of the jacket than the shirt. Be aware that this shirt is warm and comfy, but tough it isn’t. This is okay, as it is a base layer.
Overall, I highly recommend this shirt!

For me, the wool thermo is more comfortable on my skin than the traditional Brynje polypropylene mesh. Like all mesh long underwear, it is excellent for adding warmth with minimal weight (if you carry it in a pack), and keeps the skin dryer than ordinary (non-mesh) fabric of any type.
For laundering, I place it in a large mesh laundry bag intended for washing delicates (in order to prevent it from getting harmfully stretched), and use a gentle cycle in a front-loading washing machine. So far so good!
I like this a lot, but it is expensive. But I like it well enough that I bought a second one.

This is the original. I had a top decades ago and there were no distributors. A few other companies IE Wiggys have copied the concept. Brynje is still the finest.

I called to make sure I got the right size. They were very helpful and it fit like a glove. The top is super comfortable and very soft. I love it.

Two things: 1. I can’t believe how long it took me to learn about Brynje. 2. I can’t believe how much warmer and drier this is compared to my normal merino base layer AND while weighing ounces less. A true win-win. I’m never going back.

Amazing product. I called before purchasing very good customer service. Very good experience.
