Description

The Wool Thermo (WT) mesh collection is made with Schoeller® 80% Merino wool and 20% polyester yarn providing excellent warmth when damp and superior odor attenuation. Brynje’s classic 3/8″ open weave design provides 4 to 6 times the insulation value of any solid knit by weight. The mesh design also allows moisture to transport to the outer layers in vapor form thus keeping you dry during periods of high activity.

Brynje’s WT Merino wool blend is very soft against the skin and has greater strength and durability than 100% Merino wool yarns. In addition, Merino wool’s great odor management properties means more uses between washings which protects both the garment and the environment. These garments are a great choice for virtually all conditions and activities.

    Excellent warmth!

  2. Stefan Martin (verified owner)

works excellently; I used it for my first milsim west and it was awesome. Didn’t take it off the entire weekend, kept me warm at night and vented the heat during the day

  3. Cairo (verified owner)

Excellent quality initially well see with time

My usual pant size is 28×32 USA sizing. So I ordered the XS which fits me like a glove. However, the netting is stretchy in all directions…Including downward. Which means the knee inlays sag down past the knees and end up around my shins. It’s so annoying that I never bother wearing them. So now I have an expensive pair of leggings that I hate wearing. I suggest they redesign the inlays to be higher up around the quadriceps so they’ll sag down to the knee region. And I also feel this type of base layer is a bit over hyped. An Under Armour compression winter baselayer wont keep me as dry but they keep me dry enough with a little added warmth. The Brynje’s keep me dry but not warm. I’ve also tried the Kora yak wool base layers which I dislike even more. I’ll be sticking with Under Armour for now.

Warm but not hot when it’s not frigid out

  6. Jeff B. (verified owner)

While out in the field, I was warm and managed moisture well. However, this pant really needs a fly. Because it was the only layer I wore without a fly, I had to open and drop all layers to urinate. Rating would be a 5 otherwise.

  7. Rodney Brubaker (verified owner)

    Just what I needed!!

  8. Joe (verified owner)

Warmest base layer I’ve ever had

I bought these to wear to my new job as a fuel delivery driver for a major truckstop chain. I cannot sit in truck while loading or unloading so wanted to upgrade my cold weather gear. This item did not disappoint. It’s so warm and comfortable. The coldest I’ve worn them in was single digits. I only wear a pair of regular Dickies work pants over them and my legs feel no draft at all. I definitely want to invest in more of Brynje products.

I recently purchased both top and bottom unisex wool themo longs base layers . Fit was spot on (XL for a 240# 6’3” male.). A bit pricey but delivered as promised on performance. I highly recommend the product.

    Awesome too

Hands down the best base layer I’ve ever worn. Made training in the Arctic Circle that much more bearable. Came highly recommended by members of the Telemark Bataljon and FSK. Highly recommend this base layer.

My husband was delighted with his holiday gift. He has worn them cross-country and backcountry skiing multiple times. Brynje longies work great to keep him warm and dry whether we’re breaking trail uphill or skiing groomers.

  17. Travis Boyle (verified owner)

These things are absolutely amazing. I’ve never had a pair of long underwear that I could telemark in without getting too hot. These regulate the temps perfectly while building the thermal layer that keeps me warm on the lift or when the temps drop. Worn in 0-deg F temps. Can’t wait to use these for hunting season.

While researching base layers for our first ever xc ski trip (in Yellowstone NP’s back country), I read about Brynje. I called Brynje USA and was guided to these for my husband. They were perfect for him. Took the plunge and got two pairs so they could be rotated. He was comfortable and warm.

Very warm for the weight & comfortable to wear. I was good from 40 degrees to 70 with a t-shirt, light jacket & jeans over this as a base layer & was dry as well. It’s a good idea to contact Brynje with your measurements & get their size recommendation.

  21. Justin Klein (verified owner)

Excellent product, very effective and fast drying. Highly recommended by Norwegian military and civilians.

  22. Christopher Kavanaugh (verified owner)

These are surprisingly comfortable under heavier woolens that may chafe sensitive wearers. A note to users! Take your time dressing and keep your nails clipped!

Amazing product. I called before purchasing very good customer service. Very good experience.
